The Hernando Leopard wrestling team dominated the 38th annual Kiwanis Invitational by ending with a tournament high 305 points out of the 33 schools in attendance. Winter Springs High School finished 2nd with 225 points and Doral Academy got the bronze finishing with 192.5 points. Hernando had twelve wrestlers place including two champions. Josh Pritz won the 160 pound weight class and Chris Spellman won the 195 pound weight class. Billy Gould (126), Jason Perez (138), and Qwenton Coney (220) placed second in the tournament. Jon Britton (120) and Sam Fleming (285) placed third. Mike Brown (132) and Billy Fetzner (152) finished fourth. Tyler Rodier (106), Maddox Romain (182) and Devin Williams (285) finished fifth in the tournament.
The wrestling team returns to action on December 27th in the Knockout Christmas Classic held in Osceola High School.
