Varsity Softball · Lynch, Townsend Lead Lady Leopards

Hannah Lynch and Olivia Townsend led the Lady Leopards to two victories yesterday in one of the state’s top softball tournaments, the Leopard Slam at Tom Varn Park. The Lady Leopards came back against county rival Nature Coast and took the lead on a two run base hit by Lynch to lead the purple and gold to a 7-4 victory. Lynch had two hits, including a double in the game and added a stolen base.  Hannah Taylor and Savannah Ellis added two RBI’s against the Sharks and freshmen Annabelle Chinetti added an RBI double.  Ava Braswell picked up the win on the mound, striking out four of the Lady Sharks in going the distance.

In the second game against Wiregrass Ranch, senior Olivia Townsend did double duty for the Lady Leopards hurling a complete game and striking out seven Lady Bulls in the win. Townsend also did damage at the plate knocking in four RBI’s with her two hits, one being a homerun. Ellis also collected two hits and added and RBI. Solaris Genberg went 2 for 2 and also added an RBI. The Lady Leopards return to action today when they take on East Bay at 3 PM. cost is $10 for the day.
