Varsity Baseball · HHS Plays Long Ball at NCT

The Leopard baseball team traveled to Nature Coast in a showdown of two state ranked teams. The purple and gold played long ball on the California Street campus in a 9-1 victory over the Sharks.  The Leopards connected on five homeruns on the night, led by Dylan Duphily who dialed long distance twice, including a grand slam.  Duphily was 3-3 on the night with five RBI’s. Gable Tafelski, Nick Talpa and Riley Fisher also went yard on the night.  Luke Puckett also had a good night at the plate going 2-3.

Fisher was dominant on the mound, keeping the Sharks off base.  The senior tossed a four-hitter and struck out ten on the night while only giving up a run.  Tristan Legg came in the seventh to finish the game for the final out.  The Leopards are now 21-1 on the season.  NCT dropped to 17-3. Both teams meet up again tonight at Hernando High School with a 7 PM start time. The cost is $5 for admission and mask must be worn if social distancing of six feet is not occurring.
