Varsity Baseball, Varsity Softball · Baseball and Softball Conference Champs!


The Purple and Gold had dominating seasons on the diamond in baseball and softball as both have won the Gulf Coast Eight Conference championships. The Leopard baseball team finished with an outstanding record of 22-2 including a great comeback in their regular season finale against Lakeland High School.  Hernando went into the last inning down by three against the Dreadnaughts and came up victorious when Anthony Talpa smashed a walk-off single off the left field wall scoring the winning run from third for the 11-10 victory. Currently the Leopards are ranked #6 in the state as they head into district play-offs this week.

The Lady Leopards had an outstanding season as well going 20-4 and are ranked #4 in the state in their classification. The Lady Leopards ended their season with a win in a 2-0 shutout over Cypress Creek High School. Ava Braswell was dominate on the mound again tossing a two-hitter while striking out five.  The purple and gold head in to the district tournament as the #1 seed and are the host for the tournament that starts Monday at 5 pm at Tom Varn Park.  Hernando will not play until Tuesday at 7 PM.
