McClelland, Ellis Lead HHS

Leopards Win 14-1

The Hernando baseball team traveled to the Bears Den and came away with a 14-1 victory over Central.  Dylan Schatzel started the scoring with a RBI triple. The fifth inning saw the Leopards plating 4 more runs as the Talpa Brothers, Nick and Anthony as well as Schatzel knocking in runs.  That is all starting

Braswell One-Hitter Against Panthers

Freshmen Ava Braswell did not perform like a freshmen as she hurled seven innings and only allowed one hit in a 2-0 victory over Lecanto High School. Laing Throws a 4-Hitter

Senior Jordan Laing’s right arm continued to perform well for the Purple and Gold this season. Laing threw four innings giving up one run on four hits allowed.  Laing blew away seven Hurricanes via strikeout as Hernando defeated Citrus 9-1 on Friday night in Inverness.  Tristan Legg came in for Laing and threw two innings

Three Wrestlers Place at States

The Hernando High wrestling team represented Brooksville and the Purple and Gold very well over the weekend. The Leopards had three wrestlers place at the state championship. Sam Fleming and Chris Spellman finished fifth and Billy Gould placed sixth. As a team, the Leopards just finish outside of the top ten as the Purple and
