Grapplers Send 9 to Semi-finals

The wrestling team are sending 9 wrestlers to the semi-finals in the Kiwanis Invitational being held at The Leopards Den. 34 teams have made the trip to Hernando’s campus for this statewide known event.  The consolation round will conclude Saturday morning before the semi-finals begin followed by the championship round. Boys Soccer Comes Up Short Versus NCT

The Leopard soccer team came up short at Nature Coast by a score of 5-1.  Andrew Bedard scored the goal for the Leopards. Hernando will play at Weeki Wachee this Friday night. JV game starts at 6 PM.

Boys Basketball Fall to Springstead

Lamp and Shenefield Sign Softball Scholarships

Seniors Alexandria Shenefield and Madyson Lamp have signed softball scholarship offers to attend Rollins College (Florida) and South Georgia State Community College.  Ali was dominate on the mound as she went 23-4 and had an E.R.A of 1.01. She also struck out 278 batters that she faced.  Shenefield also had a batting average of .405

Boys Soccer Falls to Springstead 5-2

The boys soccer team fell to Springstead High School 5-2 at Tom Fisher Stadium last night. Jacob Kelly and Cesar Mejia each scored a goal for the Leopards.  The Leopards return to action Wednesday traveling to Nature Coast.

Hernando Grappler’s Dominate at Weeki Wachee Invitational

Hernando wrestling team dominated at Weeki Wachee High School dual tournament going undefeated (8-0) to win the championship.  Grappler’s Jonathan Britton, Billy Gould, J Lisk, Josh Pritz, Boston Tafelski and Fernando Valdez all went 8-0 on the day. Lady Leopards Defeat Lady Bears 53-31

The Lady Leopards defeat the Lady Bears of Central High School 53-31 at the Leopards Den on Friday. The Lady Leopards improved to 4-2 on the season.  Hernando will travel to Springstead on Tuesday for a county match-up.

111 Ernie Chatman Run

The new address for Hernando High School will be 111 Ernie Chatman Run beginning Saturday, December 8th.  E. North Street was renamed after the late Hernando alum, Ernie Chatman. The former student and Hall of Fame coach passed away from an apparent heart attack after one of his daily jogs in July of 2016.
