4 Wrestlers Place in State Tournament; Team 10th out of 65

Four Hernando wrestlers placed at the state wrestling tournament held in Kissimmee. Josh Pritz place 4th, Qwenton Coney placed 5th, Fernando Valdez and Bronson Tafelski placed 6th.  The team finished 10th out of 65 teams that made the wrestling tournament. Great job on a fantastic year Leopards!

Leopards JV Baseball moves to 5-0

JV baseball swept Citrus 4-1 and 4-3. Landon Carter threw 6 innings in Game 1. Trenton Maner had a 3 run HR. Tristan Legg, Isiah Berry, Riley Fisher, and Ian Varner all threw in the 2nd game.

Shenefield Throws Perfect Game; Dowdell, Townsend Homer

Senior Ali Shenefield struck out ten and threw a perfect game. The pitcher also had a hit and two RBI’s. Junior Taliyah Dowdell and Sophomore Olivia Townsend each hit two-run homeruns in the third inning in which the Lady Leopards scored ten runs in the 15-0 victory over Central High School.  Senior Nakayla Roberts and

Stalcup Places First in the 2 Mile

Ross Stalcup placed first in the 3200 meter race last night at the track meet at Cypress Creek High School. He also finished fourth in the 1600 meter race.  Stalcup had a personal best time in both races.  Nakayla Roberts placed second in the shot put and Devin Chichester placed second in the high jump. 

Wrestlers Headed to States

Nine Hernando wrestlers will be headed to the state wrestling tournament at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee this weekend. The following wrestlers, Bronson Tafelski, Fernando Valdez, Alex Espinal, Jonathan Britton, Michael Brown, Qwenton Coney, Billy Gould, Josh Pritz and Sam Fleming.  All the Leopards will be vying for a place on the podium. Leopards Win 16-1 on Baseball Diamond

The Leopard baseball team mercy ruled visiting Gulf High School 16-1 in action last night at chilly Emerson Field.  The Leopards improved to 2-1.

Adams & Garcia County Champs in Weightlifting

Junior Caleb Adams and sophomore Lex Garcia wound their perspective weight class in the Hernando County Weightlifting Championships.  The Leopards team came in second place in the championship. Garcia won the 129 pound class and Adams won the 139 pound class.

Shenefield K’s 19 Sharks in 7-0 Lady Leopards Victory

Ali Shenefield struck out a school record 19 Nature Coast batters in throwing a two hit shutout over the county rivals.  Shenefield also had a double and 3 RBI’s in the game.  The hit was her 100th of her career and the 19 strikeouts put her over 600 K’s for her career. Senior Madyson Lamp

Lady Leopards Swat Hornets 19-0

The Lady Leopard softball team defeated Weeki Wachee Hornets 19-0 in a three inning softball game at Weeki Wachee.  Senior Ali Shenefield pitched a one-hitter striking out 9 batters. Leopards Split With NCT

The Hernando baseball team split with Nature Coast winning the first game, coming back from a five run deficit, to win 13-11.  That game was played Thursday at Hernando.  The Leopards traveled to Nature Coast on Friday and lost to the Sharks 3-1.  The Leopards are 1-1 on the season.
