Leopard Grapplers Clip County Power Eagles 36-34

The Leopard wrestling team took down county and state power, Springstead Eagles 36-34, to close out their regular season. Josh Pritz and Fernando Valdez each won their weight class to lead the Leopards to claiming the Timber Creek Invitational in Orlando.  Jonathan Britton, J Lisk and Boston Tafelski placed second for the Leopards. Pritz Wins Gold; Grapplers Finish Second

Josh Pritz brought home the gold in winning the championship at 138 pounds and recording five pins. Grapplers Take On Lake Highland Prep

The Leopard wrestling team will be taking on Lake Highland Prep. today at Osceola High School in the Elite Eight of the FHSAA Dual State Championships after wiping out Leesburg and Weeki Wachee in the first two rounds held last week. Weigh-ins will begin at 5 PM with the match to start at 6 PM.

District Dual Champs…..AGAIN!

Leopards Seize Pirates 69-6 on the Mats

The Hernando wrestling team defeated the Pasco Pirates by a score of 69-6.  The Leopards had 8 grapplers (Jon Britton, Billy Gould, John Pritz, Boston Tafelski, Bronson Tafelski, Fernando Valdez, Alex Espinal and Sam Fleming) won by pin. The team will compete in District Duals this weekend at Nature Coast.

Leopard Grapplers Finish Second

The Hernando wrestling team finished second in the Kiwanis Tournament.  Perennial state power Lake Gibson placed first.  There was a total of 34 teams that attended the weekend event. The Leopards return to the mat Wednesday when they host The Villages.  The Leopards will honor their seniors in part of their senior night festivities.

Grapplers Send 9 to Semi-finals

The wrestling team are sending 9 wrestlers to the semi-finals in the Kiwanis Invitational being held at The Leopards Den. 34 teams have made the trip to Hernando’s campus for this statewide known event.  The consolation round will conclude Saturday morning before the semi-finals begin followed by the championship round.
