Leopards Blow Away Lake Weir 51-0

Hernando football team came out of the gates strong and defeated Lake Weir 51-0 for their first win of the season. Varsity Football Game Moved

The Leopard varsity football team had their game versus Lake Weir changed from Friday night to Saturday morning with kick-off at 10 AM due to hurricane. The JV game versus Weeki Wachee for this Thursday at 6 PM is still on schedule. The JV game is being played at Hernando.

Leopards Football Home Opener Tonight

The Leopards football team will open their 2019-20 football season versus Lake Gibson tonight at Tom Fisher Stadium.  Kick-off is set for 7:30. Tickets are $6.  The Leopards will be looking to build off last seasons play-off run.

Kick-Off Classic Cancelled

Tonight’s kick-off class versus Dunnellon High School has been cancelled due to weather and field conditions. The Leopards will start the regular season versus Lake Gibson High School at Tom Fisher Stadium, next Friday, August 23rd, with kick-off at 7:30 PM.

Awesome Items for Auction at Golf Outing

Hernando Athletic department has received two great items from Sara White, wife of the late great Reggie White, who played with Hernando great Jerome Brown with the Philadelphia Eagles. Sara has donated an autographed Green Bay Packers helmet with Reggie’s autograph and several others including Gilbert Brown, Eugene Robinson, Frank Winters, Adam Timmerman and others.

Jerome Brown Camp Postponed

Due to the weather, the Jerome Brown football camp has been postponed.  The tentative make-up date is Saturday, July 27th.  More information will get out soon in regards to the camp.

Leopards Varsity Wins 7-0 Over South Lake

The Hernando football team traveled to South Lake High School to take on the Eagles in the Spring Classic. The varsity teams played for 3 quarters and the JV played the fourth quarter.  The Leopards were winning 7-0 when the JV came to play. The final score was South Lake scoring 10 points in the

Dub Palmer Elected to HOF

Former Hernando football coach, Willard “Dub” Palmer, was elected to the 2019 FHSAA Hall of Fame.  Palmer went 232-69-9 in his coaching career, placing him in the top 20 for Florida all-time coaching wins.  Palmer and his son, John, a Hernando graduate and former Leopard head football coach as well, are the only father-son combo’s
