Cross Country Advances

The boys cross country team advanced to regionals by finishing 8th out of 20 teams. Justin Fabela and Trevor Raimondi paced the way for the Leopards by finishing 21st and 22nd in the race. Dorough Finishes in Top 10

Lauren Dorough finished 8th out of 138 runners this week at the Weeki Wachee Invitational held at the Weeki Wachee Preserves. She ran a personal best 21:12.  There were 30 schools that competed in the race. Dorough is ranked 80th in the state and 5th in the district.

Dorough, Fabela Athletes of the Month

Lauren Dorough and Justin Fabela we’re named Glory Days Hernando High School athletes of the month for August. Both received a gift certificate from Glory Days for their honor. Dorough was won multiple cross country races and Fabela has finished in the top 15 a couple times. Congratulations Leopards.

Dorough Wins 2nd Consecutive Race

Lauren Dorough won her second consecutive cross country race and Justin Fabela and Trevor Raimondi finished 5th and 6th in the boys race. Great job as the Leopards are reaching their peak at the right time of the season.

Dorough Wins Girls CC Meet

Lauren Dorough won the girls cross country race at Seven Rivers Christian Academy. Justin Fabela just missed finishing in the top 10 as he finished the boys race in 11th place.  Dorough finished almost one minute (55 seconds) ahead of the second place finisher.

Lauren Dorough and Justin Fabela led the cross country team as both finished with personal records in the Zak Lukas Memorial meet. Dorough finished in 21:15 and finished in the top 25 out of over 200 runners.  Fabela finished his race in 18:31 to finish in the top 40 out of nearly 300 runners.  The

111 Ernie Chatman Run

The new address for Hernando High School will be 111 Ernie Chatman Run beginning Saturday, December 8th.  E. North Street was renamed after the late Hernando alum, Ernie Chatman. The former student and Hall of Fame coach passed away from an apparent heart attack after one of his daily jogs in July of 2016.
