Three Wrestlers Place at States

The Hernando High wrestling team represented Brooksville and the Purple and Gold very well over the weekend. The Leopards had three wrestlers place at the state championship. Leopards Send 8 To States

The Hernando High wrestling team are sending eight members of their team to the FHSAA state championship.  The Leopards were led by Chris Spellman who won the regional championship this weekend.  Coming in second place was Billy Gould, Billy Fetzner and Johnathan Ahne.  TJ Rodier, Diego Mojica, Jason Perez and Sam Fleming finished in third

Leopards Win 5th Consecutive District Title

The Hernando wrestling team won their fifth consecutive district title last week at HHS.  The purple and gold did not have one weight class finish lower than fourth, including 6 district champions. The Leopards will travel to Palm Bay this Friday and Saturday for FHSAA Regionals.  

Two Leopards Collect 100 Wins!

Within the past week, two Leopard wrestlers have collected 100 career wins wearing the purple and gold. Sam Fleming and Billy Gould achieved that feat for the North Suncoast wrestling power. Congratulations to Sam and Billy and best of luck to the Leopards as they finish the season in preparation for the state tournament.

The Hernando Leopard wrestling team won their second in a row Gulf Coast 8 Conference Championships that was being held at Springstead High School yesterday.  Sam Fleming, Billy Fetzner and Chris Spellman won individual championships in their respective weight classes. Wrestling Advances to Regional Finals

The Leopard wrestling team advances to the stage regional finals next week against Palm Bay High School in Osceola.  Hernando took care of business in the FHSAA quarterfinals and semi-finals defeating Atlantic Port Orange 63-12 in the quarterfinals and then beat Weeki Wachee in the semi-finals 66-9 after the Hornets defeated Palatka 36-33. Grapplers Defeat Hornets for District Title

The Hernando High School wrestling team continued their area dominance by winning their fourth consecutive district championship yesterday at  district duals tournament held at Weeki Wachee High School.  The Leopards had 8 wrestlers that finished the tournament undefeated: TJ Rodier, Zach Zimmerman, Billy Gould, Jason Perez, Billy Fetzner, Nate Greene, Chris Spellman and Sam Fleming.

No Spectators at Kiwanis Wrestling Invitational

This weekend the Leopard wrestling team will be hosting the Kiwanis Wrestling Invitational at Michael Imhoff Gymnasium on the campus of Hernando High School.  This invitational is one of the toughest wrestling tournaments in the state of Florida. The Leopard wrestling team cam away victorious finishing 5-0 in a dual tournament Hernando hosted due to the cancellation of the Weeki Wachee High School tournament due to Covid.  The Leopards were victorious over Citrus, The Villages, Pasco, Land O’ Lakes and Hudson High School.
