Pritz Leads in GC8 Winter Season Awards

The Gulf Coast Eight Conference awards were announced last night at the winter meeting being held at Lecanto High School.  Wrestler Josh Pritz led the way by being named Wrestler of the Year.  Coach David Pritz was named Coach of the Year after leading the Leopards to the conference championship.  The following wrestlers were named

Leopards Control Glass, Blow Away Hurricanes 68-51

Junior Jacob Batten and Senior Wesley Wilson combined for 47 points and the Leopards stingy defense led the boys basketball team to a 68-51 victory over Citrus High School Hurricanes in the district basketball tournament.  Batten led with 27 points as the defense suffocated Citrus in the fourth quarter after the Hurricanes cut the lead

Batten, Wilson Lead Leopards in Hoop win vs. Pasco

The Leopard boys basketball team defeated Pasco 53-44 behind  Jacob Batten’s 16 points.  Senior Wesley Wilson chipped in 11 points. The Leopards finished their regular season 11-14 and will take on Citrus High School in the first round of the district play-offs tomorrow at 6 PM at Citrus High School.

Leopard Hoops Defeat South Lake 72-69

The Hernando boys basketball team rebounded from an earlier loss in the season to South Lake High School by beating the Eagles 72-69 at Hernando last night.  The Leopards improve to 10-14. They will host Pasco Friday night in the regular season finale.

Batten Nets 26 as Leopards Swat Hornets

Junior Jacob Batten scored 26 points as the Leopards defeated the visiting Hornets of Weeki Wachee 68-40 to improve to 9-11 on the season.  The Leopards will travel to Lecanto High School for a district game on Tuesday, January 29th.

Leopards Sink Gulf in Boys Basketball

THe Leopards defeated Gulf High School 59-57 to improve their record to 3-5.  Jacob Batten lead the way with 21 points.  Sharp shooting Isaiah Brown netted 15 points, going 4/6 from the three point range. Wesley finished out the double digit scoring by adding 12 points.  The Leopards are on the road Friday to play

Boys Basketball falls to NCT

The boys basketball team fell to Nature Coast by a score of 86-46. The Leopards return to The Leopards Den when they host Lecanto High School Tuesday. JV game starts at 6 PM.

Boys Basketball Fall to Springstead

The boys basketball team fell to Springstead 67-52.  The Leopards were down by two at half. The Eagles stopped the comeback after the Leopards cut the lead to eight in the fourth.  The Leopards will be back in action Friday as they travel to Nature Coast. The JV team defeated the Eagles JV team by

111 Ernie Chatman Run

The new address for Hernando High School will be 111 Ernie Chatman Run beginning Saturday, December 8th.  E. North Street was renamed after the late Hernando alum, Ernie Chatman. The former student and Hall of Fame coach passed away from an apparent heart attack after one of his daily jogs in July of 2016.

Leopards Claw Bears for First Win

The Hernando High School boys basketball team defeated county rival Central High School 62-49 at the Bears Den for their first win of the season after losing three games by seven points or less to make their record 1-3.  The Leopards were led by Jacob Batten, who scored a game high 18 points and had
